Solomon Panford Esq.,APR earned his Bachelor's degree in
Graphic Design from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and
continued his studies at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom,
where he obtained his Master's degree in Education and Mass Media. Mr. Panford
then went on to study law (LLB), which he completed in 2010 and did the
professional Barrister at Law degree.
Mr. Panford started his post-secondary school national
service as an Assistant Cultural Officer and later became a Classroom Teacher
at S.D.A Middle School at Techiman. In March 1996, he was hired as a Resource
Officer at the Kumasi Health Education Unit (KMA Unit) where he worked in
research programs, produced and pretested the usage of Participatory Health and
Hygiene Education materials.
In April 1996, he was appointed as a Graphic Designer and
Materials Development Officer at Training, Research and Networking for
Development (TREND). He assisted in the facilitation of Training of trainers’
workshop on Materials Development, Participatory Methodologies and
Communication Skills.
He worked at CARE International at Obuasi Adansi West as an
Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Specialist from 1999 to 2001.
In January 2002, he was contractually engaged by Rural Care
Network (RUCNET, a Non-Governmental Organization in Kumasi) to provide Graphics
Design Support to Manuals and other Visual materials and assisted in research
activities.
In August 2002, he was appointed as Senior Assistant
Registrar at the University Relations Office (URO) at KNUST. Having found
himself in the KNUST environment, he raised the visibility of the University
through appropriate communication strategies and ascended the ranks of
administration and was made the University Relations Officer and Alumni Affairs
with his expertise in Public Relations.
Solomon Panford Esq served on several committees at KNUST
including Secretary to the Council of Convocation, Public Lectures Committee,
Appointment and Promotions Committee, Registrar’s Offices Seminar Committee,
Senior Staff Club Management Committee and many others.
From 2008 to 2013, he served as President of the Ghana
Association of University Administrators (KNUST Branch).
From 2005 to 2006, he served as the College of Health
Sciences' acting College Registrar and later became College Registrar for the
Colleges of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) and Humanities and Social
Sciences.
Due to his extensive knowledge in University Administration,
he was appointed the Registrar of the University of Energy and Natural
Resources in Sunyani. He served in that capacity till his retirement in 2023.
Mr. Panford is an accredited member of the Institute of
Public Relations (IPR) and is married with two sons and a daughter.
